A State of Louisiana capital outlay of $1 million is designated to renovate and repair the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Some citizens may not realize that the building the Sheriff’s Office occupys is not owned by the Sheriff’s Office. Instead, it is owned by the Washington Parish Government.

GRITS girls celebrated Christmas

The G.R.I.T.S. girls red hat group celebrated Christmas in Ponchatoula, La., at the lovely home of Edleana Wattigney as our hostess. The group gave her as a hostess gift a lovely poinsettia. Our hostess provide gumbo, rice and a delicious hot spinach/cheese dip with scoops.

Winterset Club meeting was December 19

The Winterset Club held its monthly meeting on December 19. Members gathered at the beautifully decorated home of Gayle Rester. Janet Breland, a new member, was introduced by Judy Bullock and welcomed by all. Everyone enjoyed a delicous meal while discussing their Christmas plans and favorite traditions. The door prize was won by Jean Wales.

Winbury Club holds progressive dinner

All was merry and bright as members of the Winbury Club gathered on December 13 for a progressive dinner. Stops were made at the beautifully decorated homes of Karen Spears, Linda Crain, and Angela McVea. At one of the stops, Karen Spears led members in a fun and entertaining game involving the lyrics of various Christmas songs.
