Franklinton police chief is target of ethics complaint

Franklinton Police Chief Justin Brown is the target of a state ethics investigation.
Brown said he received a letter from the Louisiana Board of Ethics last week notifying him that he is being investigated for payroll issues during last year’s Hurricane Ida emergency.

Bogalusa's high murder rate concerning to entire parish

Leaders in Washington Parish are working hard on economic development and promoting tourism in this scenic and rural parish.
So it was depressing to those leaders and many citizens last week when a New Orleans newspaper portrayed the parish as a hotbed of violent crime.

Quilt Trail block mounted in Fairgrounds

In photo above, Donna Stier and Minnie Posey are shown with the new Quilt Trail block which was recently mounted on the front side of the Flower House building in the Fairgrounds. They represented the Home and Garden Club who sponsored the block. It was painted by Christina Batiste, daughter of club president, Donna Stier.
