James Allen McCain, 65, a resident of Pine passed away Sunday afternoon October 29, 2023 at East Jefferson General Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Beginning as a young man, Allen repaired and worked on lawnmowers and equipment, which continued for most of his life, over 50 years. He was the owner/operator of McCain Lawnmower in Franklinton for 15 years, providing both sales and service to the community. Allen served as an umpire for Little League Baseball for many years and always enjoyed watching his son play the sport he loved. He was a member of Poplarhead Missionary Baptist Church that enjoyed singing gospel hymns and other songs. Allen liked to spend time fishing and visiting with all the people he met, as he never ever met a stranger.

2 Step-Children: Cory Creel, Melissa Creel
2 Step-Grandchildren: Axel Kelley, Anistyn Kelley
Also numerous nieces, nephews and cousins
He was preceded in death by his son Dustin Allen McCain, mother Alice Rogers McCain Brooks, father Willie J. McCain and other family members.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Thursday November 2nd from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Thursday with Eld. Adam Luper and Eld. Ed Penton officiating. Burial will follow in the Poplarhead Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
