Allen Jerome Penton, 67, a resident of Bogalusa died Monday afternoon March 14, 2022 at Tulane Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He served his country for 8 years in the United States Coast Guard, stationed at locations in Oregon, Florida and other spots along the Gulf Coast. Allen then worked alongside his family for many years in their seafood restaurant, Poole’s Bluff Catfish House in Bogalusa. He enjoyed antique cars and had a favorite black Chevy Nova for many years then later fell in love with Harley-Davidson motorcycles, which he rode as often as he could. Allen liked to visit the casino with his family and always enjoyed swinging on the front porch listening to his favorite classic rock music.

Grandchildren: Erika Penton, Aaliyah Birdeno, Teagan Birdeno
Great-grandchildren: Jaelyn Penton, Devin Penton, Anthony Burt
Sister: Pam Thompson of Covington
Brothers and Sisters in law: Mark and Christine Penton of Carriere, MS, Jeff and Nancy Penton of Bush
Also numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins
He was preceded in death by his parents William E. “Dub” Penton and Mary Elizabeth Haley Penton, a brother Ricky Penton and other family members.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Saturday March 19th from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Saturday with Rev. Clark Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in the Fleet and Dixie Haley Family Cemetery.
