Daryl Corkern, 66, passed away Wednesday afternoon June 7, 2023 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. He was born in Washington Parish on August 2, 1956 and lived in Walker for many years before moving back to Franklinton 20 years ago.
Daryl was a truck driver and diesel mechanic for Earl Wood Trucking, hauling different products all around the area. He loved all types of hunting and spending time in the outdoors. Daryl also enjoyed fishing and spent many great days at his fishing camp in Maurepas. He liked to plant a big vegetable garden each year and he cherished the time spent with his family.

Daughters: Tonya and Joshua Tarver of Walker, Jessica Spence of Denham Springs, Linda Cheri Spears and Scott Crain, Dane Spears all of Franklinton, Jamie Comeaux of Huntsville, AL
Son: Tyler Williams, currently serving with the U.S. Marine Corps in North Carolina
Grandchildren: Lydia and Cleveland Caswell, Loren Halford, Taylor Spence, Baylee Spence, Lillian Elyse Williams, Lawson Crain, Caleb Dunaway, Remi Graham, Avery Graham, Brodyray Spears
Great-granddaughter: Amelia Grace Caswell
Sisters and Brothers in law: Debbie and David Quintana of Walker, Donna and John Wolff of Baton Rouge
Sister in law and Brother in law: Darlene and Sambo Cochran

He was preceded in death by son Bobby Ray Spears, III and parents Earl Wood and Dorothy Welch Wood.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home (1109 Bene Street, Franklinton) on Sunday June 11th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Sunday with Rev. Rick Cook officiating. Burial will follow in the Hezekiah Magee Cemetery.
