On Friday, February 11, 2022, Delecia Johnson Gibson, loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother & friend entered eternal rest at the age of 60, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington.
Dedee was born on August 14, 1961 in New Orleans. She was the youngest of 6 children, raised in Franklinton, with a family that was committed to military and public service. She continued that tradition in her adult life, serving as a psychiatric nurse for 35 years.. Dedee retired in December of 2012 from Southeast Louisiana Hospital after spending 25 years dedicated to helping others. She went on to work as a pharmacy technician before returning to nursing at East Louisiana State Hospital, and finished her career at Central Regional Hospital in 2018.
She married her husband, Frank, the love of her life, on October 3, 2011. They went on to make memories with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was lovingly referred to as "Nanny" by countless cousins, nieces and nephews. Spending time with her family and friends was important to her. Dedee adored her family, and people she touched knew just how much they meant to her. She was baptized on July 22, 2012 at Church of the King in Mandeville, where she attended regularly.
