Edith Vala Oliver Crain, 87, a resident of Westfield, Indiana passed away Monday night February 27, 2023. She was a former longtime resident of Mount Hermon. Edith was born November 24, 1935 in Greenway, Arkansas but lived in quite a few locations during her lifetime, including a long stay in Iowa and other places and later many years in New Orleans along with her husband and children. Edith often kept in contact with the many neighbors and friends she had met across the county. She always loved crocheting and making crafts.

Son: James W. Crain, Jr. of Mt. Hermon
Grandchildren: James “Jimmy” Crain, III, Joshua Crain, Barbara Mire, Shannon Tollison
Great-grandchildren: Dalton Crain, Baileigh Crain, Collin Crain, A.J. Mire, Matthew Mire
Also numerous sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her husband James W. Crain, Sr., daughter in law Vickie Crain, parents Glanas Oliver, Sr. and Ollie Marie Beard Oliver, a brother Glanas Oliver, Jr. and other family members.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home (1109 Bene Street, Franklinton, LA) on Saturday March 4th from 1:00 pm until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 pm. A private burial will follow in the Bogue Chitto Baptist Church Cemetery.
