Gladys Corkern Passman, 95, passed away early Monday morning March 25, 2024 at Baton Rouge General Hospital-Bluebonnet. She was a native of Franklinton and longtime resident of Baton Rouge before moving back home to Washington Parish after retiring. Gladys provided clerical work for McKinnis/Peterson Chevrolet and later for Capitol Mack. She became a believer in Christ as a teenager and placed great importance in walking daily with Him and for Him. She faithfully served her church in many ways, singing in the church choir, providing meals for funerals, hosting meals for visiting pastors. She had a way of making her family and friends feel truly and uniquely loved. She had a smile for everyone she met. During the latter part of her life, she lost much of her physical ability, but her walk with Christ grew ever stronger. She was a source of blessing, courage, and friendship to all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband Wilson W. Passman, father Claude Corkern, mother Tressie Morgan Bowman, brothers Dorman Corkern, Ralph Corkern.
Visitation will be at Sunlight Baptist Church (18184 Sunlight Road, Franklinton, LA) on Tuesday April 2nd from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the church at 2:00 pm Tuesday with Rev. Bryan Fields officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
