John A. “Butch” Edwards Jr., 80, a resident of Franklinton passed away peacefully Friday night December 31, 2021 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital.
He was retired after a 40 year career working off-shore and inland in the petroleum industry. Butch was a tool-pusher for Nabors Drilling before retiring. He was a member of Clifton Baptist Church that deeply loved his church and church family. He loved fishing, hunting and being in the outdoors. Butch was constantly on the go, working in his yard and just staying busy, even in his later years. He was always a loving husband, father and grandfather that cherished the time spent with his family.

Son and Daughter in law: Todd and Tiffany Edwards of Franklinton

4 Great-grandchildren: Grason Smith, Bryce Barber, Madison Barber, Anna Kate Smith

He was preceded in death by his parents John A. Edwards, Sr. and Ruby Sullivan Edwards, brother Rusty Edwards, an infant grandchild, nephew Mack King, father in law and mother in law Junius and Leonise Breaux, brothers in law Gerald “Buzz” Breaux, Bart Brown.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Tuesday January 4th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Tuesday with Rev. Tony Hicks and his nephew Rev. Pat King officiating. Burial will follow in the Hays Creek Southern Baptist Church Cemetery.
