Nancy was born to James Edward Wright and Magdalene Taylor Wright on September 30, 1936 in Hattiesburg, MS and grew up in Franklinton, LA.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Susan Wright Kelton.
She is survived by her husband, Guy C. Futral Jr. and her daughters, Rebecca Futral-Anderson, Cynthia Futral Eason (Larry, granddaughters Sarah, Lily and Camille), Valerie Futral, and Elizabeth Futral (Steven White) and her sister Mary Wright Crain (Judge Hillary Crain), great grands Riley, Elijah, Aurora and many nieces and nephews.
She met and married her husband, Guy, at Mississippi College and they celebrated 67 years of marriage June 25th, 2023. She had a lifelong love for learning that she pursued with a BA and MA in English, and 2 years into a doctorate in Educational Leadership. She taught high school English for many years. She loved gardening, reading, sewing, and music as an accomplished pianist and flutist. She was a fabulous cook and always welcomed friends and family in their home through the years. She was a lifelong member of American Association of University Women (AAUW) and instrumental in starting 2 chapters with this organization.
She was active in Brandon with Meals on Wheels for nearly 10 years. She was truly grateful for every day she lived and as she got older stated daily, "I am doing the best I can!"
We will miss her love, her laughter, and her fierce spirit. And we will forever be inspired by her brave, independent, and love-infused walk through life.
