Nelda Toney Lewis, 84, a resident of Franklinton passed away Saturday March 16, 2024 at her home. She was a beautician and operated Nelda’s Hair Connection for over 30 years. Nelda also drove a bus for the Franklinton Schools for about 10 years. She was always talented with her hands, making beautiful floral arrangements for weddings and other special events. For a time, she was a member of the Franklinton Garden Club. Nelda also made delicious cakes for weddings, birthdays and other occasions. She played the piano for most of her life which created a lifelong love of gospel music. She and her husband enjoyed traveling to gospel shows all around the area, Tennessee and other states. Nelda had a special place in her heart for her pet Chihuahua “Lucy”. She was forever a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bobbie Lewis, parents Ray Toney and Frankie Johnson Toney, brothers Billy Ray Toney, Colan Toney and other family members.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Wednesday March 20th from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 12:00 pm Wednesday with Bro. Brandon Burge officiating. Burial will follow in the San Pedro Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery near her home.
