Pearl White Descant, passed away March 8, 2023, at the age of 83.
She had 4 children - Jimmy, John, Tom - and daughter Sandie passed in 2020. She is survived by 6 grandkids, 9 great grandkids, and 6 great great-grandkids - and ex-husband and best friend Joe.
Pearl grew up in Grand Haven, Michigan, raised her kids in Chalmette, La. and Folsom, moved to Arizona for 8 years, and was a resident of Franklinton since 2008. An Air Force veteran, whose father fought in WW2, she was a beloved member of the community, a business owner, helped run the farmers/flea market, worked with the local museum, and was an award-winning teddy bear artist who sold out many times at the Washington Parish Fair. A staple of yard sales, flea markets, and many events she had an exquisite eye for discarded ‘treasure’ and made friends with everyone she came to meet, with that infectious laugh and commentary.
Pearl was and still is a light to behold in this world and the next. She was cremated, and there will be no formal ceremony - all she asks is that you be kind to each other, love much, and pay it forward every day.
