It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Richard Bruce Schilling, who left us on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.
Richard was 66 years old, born on July 15, 1957, in Tylertown Mississippi. He was a longtime resident of Mt. Hermon Louisiana, now residing in Franklinton, Louisiana. Richard was a member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church. He was an avid LSU fan and enjoyed talking with family, friends, and neighbors. He was a retired dairy farmer and part owner of Schilling Brothers Dairy.
Richard is survived by:
Brother and Sister in law – Juiet and Melinda Schillings, of Bolivar
Sister – Gale Williams, of Franklinton
Nephew – Nick Goings, of Franklinton
Niece and Spouse – Katherine Schillings Verberne and Wayne Verberne, of Bolivar
2 Great Nephews – Maddox and Maverick Goings, of Franklinton
Sister in law – Laura Schilling, of Mt. Hermon
Nephew – Chris Tetreau, of Mt. Hermon
He is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins, who were very special to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J. W. “Doc” and Eleanor “Pete” Schilling, brother, Billy Schilling, and niece, Krystal Gale Goings Tetreau.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home, 1109 Bene Street, Franklinton, Louisiana, on Sunday, February 18, 2024 from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm with a funeral service in the Chapel at 2:00 pm with Rev. Ray Wuerzer and Rev. Bryan Bates officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery.
