Robert Allen Bankston, 48, and a resident of Franklinton, died Thursday, December 29, 2022, following a helicopter accident while working in the Gulf of Mexico. He was a 1992 graduate of Franklinton High School, who loved hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. Robbie worked at Winn-Dixie in Franklinton for several years and later worked with Ja-Roy Pest Control servicing homes and businesses throughout the area. He worked several years at the International Paper Mill Box Plant in Bogalusa, and for the last ten years worked for Island Operating Company. Robbie was a production operator on production platforms in different locations throughout the Gulf.
He attended Grace Missionary Baptist Church and loved watching football, especially the LSU Tigers. Robbie was an excellent cook and loved hosting his family and friends for meals. The family favorites include his delicious beef brisket and boiled crawfish. He had a special place in his heart for his pet Labradors, Saige and Scout. Robbie always kept his family first and cherished the time they all spent together. He was always a very kind, patient, understanding and caring person who truly loved others before himself. Robbie will be forever missed by all that knew him.

He was preceded in death by grandfathers, Tommy Bankston, Albert Stucks, father-in-law, Wade Bateman, brother-in-law, Mike Beahm, sister-in-law, Eva Beahm, Aunt Donna Bankston, Uncle Butch Edwards and best friend, Waylon Watson.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home (1109 Bene Street, Franklinton) Saturday, January 7th from 10:00 AM until 3:30 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 3:30 PM Saturday with Eld. Edward Penton and Eld. Gary Sumrall officiating. Burial will follow in Carlee’s Garden Cemetery.
