Susan Bateman Holton, age 62 a resident of Ponchatoula passed away early Thursday morning May 25, 2023. She was a former longtime resident of Franklinton and had also lived in Amite and other nearby towns. Susan enjoyed watching the sunsets in Madisonville and taking road trips with her friends. They would often visit the casino where her favorite action was Hot Roll Fever. She especially loved spending time with her family at cook-outs or late night sleepovers with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Holton, mother Wanda James Erikson, father Louis Denmon Bateman, sisters Wilda Jean Bateman, Frankie Hamilton, brother Elvin James, Sr. and other family members.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home (1109 Bene Street, Franklinton) on Saturday June 3rd from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 6:00 pm Saturday with Kenneth Wheeler officiating.
