Suzannah Louise McCord Woelkers

Suzannah Louise McCord Woelkers of Punta Gorda, Florida passed away peacefully on February 24, 2024 with her daughter by her side.
She was born on January 23, 1937, to Frank and Nancy McCord, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Suzannah met the love of her life, Gerald “Jerry” Woelkers in 1968, who affectionately called her “My Love” almost from day one. They married in 1970, moved to Atlanta Ga to set up their household and start their life together. Suzannah enjoyed a career in interior design, where she and her partner successfully owned and operated Showcase Interiors. They moved to Punta Gorda, Florida in 1999 and sold real estate with Coldwell Banker for many years until both retired in 2022. Anyone observing Suzannah and Jerry together would comment that they were a “perfect match”.
Suzannah loved traveling, her friends and spending time with her family especially playing with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She could be found sitting on the floor coloring, playing cards or crafting with the children. Her favorite colors where blue and yellow, she loved making jewelry and giving special gifts to her friends and family members. She enjoyed good wine and champagne, food and being among family and friends. And most importantly, Suzannah had a strong faith and loved Jesus.
Suzannah was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had two children, Suzannah Louise (Keith) Fussell and Scott Dickston (deceased). Her siblings, Lawrence B. (Deceased) and Evelyn “Evi” Banzhaf McCord, Maribeth (Deceased) and Robert “Bob” Brakvill; Nelda and Sandy (Deceased) Sheafer.
Her Grandchildren who knew her as “Mugsie”; Jason Shuman, Katie (Kyle) Fussell-Rushing, Cassie Shuman, Amanda Dickston (Deceased), Michelle (Charles Michael) Dickston Berg and Jeremy Dickston.
Great grandchildren; LilyAnn Frost Shuman and Kingston Scott Fussell.
Brother-in-law; William “Bill” (Carolee) Woelkers, of Scranton, PA.
She had many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held at Tufts-Schildmeyer Funeral Home in Loveland, Ohio on Saturday, March 2, 2024 with visitation 10 am until service at 11am. Grave site immediately after at Rest Haven Memorial Park.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date at “New Life in Christ Church” Punta Gorda, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic for Battered Women, 21297 Olean Blvd. Unit B, Port Charlotte, Florida 33950
