Peggy Susan Lyles, 65, a resident of Franklinton passed away Tuesday afternoon December 10, 2024 at her home. She was born in Franklinton on October 29, 1959 and later graduated from Franklinton High School, where she played on the Lady Demons basketball team and was a member of the FHS cheerleader squad. Peggy was the operator and cook for the Kingfish restaurant in Independence for many years. She enjoyed fishing, squirrel hunting and spending time in the outdoors. Peggy was a huge New Orleans Saints and LSU fan and loved watching the games on TV. She always loved spending quality time with her father, nieces, nephews and their families, who she adored like her own children.

She was preceded in death by her mother Doris Compton Lyles, sister Teri Tanner Lyles, great-niece Chapel Dykes, grandparents William and Marie Lyles, Brown and Maggie Compton.
Following a private family graveside service, Peggy will be laid to rest next to her mother in the Hollywood Cemetery in McComb, MS. A public memorial service for her friends and family will be planned in the near future.
