The coaches of district 8-3A which is made up of Amite, Albany, Bogalusa, Pine, Springfield and Sumner, have released their 2024 All District football team selections.
The Pine Raiders were led by Coach Bradley Seal in his 13th season as head coach of the Raiders. The Raiders, who recorded a 9-4 record and played themselves into the quarterfinals of the Division III playoffs, were well represented on the team with three first team offensive selections and three first team defensive selections. The Raiders had six second team offensive and three second team defensive as well as two second team special teams selections.
The selections from the Raiders team this season on first team offense were DJ Garrett was selected as receiver, Jackson Jones selected as offensive lineman and Zach Thomas as tightend. All three of these were also first team selections in 2023.
Second team offensive selections were quarterback Trey Knight, backs Von Johnson and Chris Williams, athlete Thomas Bernard, linemen Cayden Woodward and John Durham.
First team selections on the defensive side for the Raiders were defensive back Thomas Bernard, linebacker Chris Williams, defensive lineman Lyrian Hart and Hayden Logsden as punter.
Linebacker Caydn Stogner, linemen Logan Green and Zach Thomas as well as CJ Cobon as the kicker were the Raiders second team selections.
Sumner's coach Ross Currier was selected as coach of the year after winning the district with a perfect 5-0 record. Jamohn Dyson of Sumner was selected offensive MVP and Kendell Brown, also of Sumner was selected defensive MVP.
