Pine put its pre-season scrimmages in the rearview mirror this past Friday night, as the Raiders opened up the 2026 season with a 30-0 blasting of cross-parish rival Varnado.
Pine Coach Bradley Seal was pleased with his team’s effort, saying, “I thought we started off the game fast and played well.”
He credited Varnado for playing hard the entire game.
Seal commended quarterback Cooper Thomas, who threw 12 completions on 19 attempts for 157 yards and a touchdown.
The Raiders will now try to keep their winning momentum going when they travel to face Pope John Paul Friday night.
