Pine rolled up a strong 50-22 district win over Albany last Friday. Now the Raiders are focused on this week’s district game at always tough Amite.
(Note: The Amite game will be Thursday evening, not Friday.)
Pine grabbed a first quarter lead and never looked back in rolling to the District 8-3A win. In the third quarter, the Pine offense was relentless as it scored 20 unanswered points. The Raiders’ third quarter performance put the game out of reach for Albany.
The win moves the Raiders to 5-1 on the season and, more importantly, to 1-0 in district action.
Albany falls to 2-4 and 0-1 on the season.
Pine head coach Bradley Seal commented, "It's always big to start 1-0 in district. I thought the last two weeks we have played well in all three phases. We have some momentum and we know the challenges that's coming the next couple of weeks. Amite is a top program in the state and we need to be ready to play this week."
Amite is 4-2 for the 2025 season and 1-0 in District 8-3A.
