A pollinator training day geared toward professionals will be held on Saturday, April 25, on LSU’s main campus in Baton Rouge.
The speakers are LSU AgCenter entomologists Morgan Christman, Aaron Ashbrook and Christine Gambino. They will present information on identifying, locating, documenting and supporting pollinators as well as integrated pest and pollinator management.
There also will be activities to help put what attendees learn into action. In addition, there will be a giveaway of a sustainable agriculture research and education book titled “Managing Alternative Pollinators: A Handbook for Beekeepers, Growers, and Conservationists.”
The program will be held in Room 132 in Julian C. Miller Hall and will include a boxed lunch.
It costs $10 to register. If you are an extension agent, please contact Catherine Hirchak by email at chirchak@agcenter.lsu.edu for a discount code as well as per diem to support travel.
This training is open to the public. Farmers, extension agents, nonprofits, landscapers, agriculture professionals, beekeepers and homesteaders are welcome to register.
