The Shasta Club met at the lovely home of Genny Brannan for the March meeting. Sharing hostess duties with Mrs. Brannan were Anne Marie Bettencourt and Callie Sinanan.
With a nod to St. Patrick's Day, the guest speaker for the evening, Callie Foreman, Mrs, Brannan’s daughter, gave an interesting and informative talk on the country of Ireland and the connections to Ireland of the Brannan family.
The group discussed their community service project for April, hosting at the Varnado Store Museum's Student Art Show and Sale. A large number of student art pieces will be displayed for the months of March and April. Members signed up for shifts and were told of the theme of the show, which is judged. Students in grades K through 12 from all over the parish will receive cash prizes for themselves and the art departments of their schools. Sponsors provide the funds for the prizes. The club agreed to act as a sponsor for the show.
Plans were made for the Spring Outing for later in the month and delicious refreshments were enjoyed by all.
