The Franklinton Junior High Falcons football team continues to roll through their schedule as they soundly defeated the Sumner Cowboys last week. The Falcons won their fourth consecutive game with a nice 32-0 shutout of Sumner. This is also their fourth consecutive shutout this season. The Falcons will travel to Amite to play Westside on September 29.
The Falcons scored on their first play of the game as Dempsey Freeman passed seventy yards to Arthur Fortenberry for a touchdown. The two point conversion run by Knox Smith was good and the Falcons were up 8-0 with 7:48 on the clock in the first period.
On the Falcons next drive they again scored on one play as Smith ripped off a 42 yard run to put the Falcons up 16-0 with 3:48 left in the first after Jy'Quarious Dykes added the two point conversion.
After Sumner punted Freeman found Curt Bush for an 82 yard touchdown pass. Freeman added the two point conversion for a 24-0 score with 7:25 left in the second period. The Falcons wrapped up their scoring with a 22 yard touchdown pass from Dempsey Freeman to Jy'Quarious Dykes. Dykes added the two point conversion for a 32-0 score which would be the halftime score.
A running clock was in effect for the second half as the Falcons reserves saw a lot of playing time. Neither team scored and the 32-0 would stand as the final score.
