The Franklinton Junior High Falcons football team defeated the Mt Hermon Yellow Jackets last Tuesday 20-8 on the road.
The Falcons opened the scoring quickly as quarterback Rhett Anderson passed to Osean Warren for a 69 yard touchdown on the second play of the game. The extra point kick was good by Gabe Ezell and the Falcons were up 7-0 with 6:58 left in the first.
The Falcons scored in the second quarter when Warren caught a 45 yard pass from Anderson to set them up at the five yard line. Anderson then ran in for the touchdown to put the Falcons up 13-0 at the 5:41 mark of the second quarter.
Anderson passed for another touchdown later in the quarter as he found KJ Brown for a thirteen yard strike to put the Falcons up 20-0 after the kick was successful.
The Falcons drove to the Mt Hermon nine yard line in the fourth quarter but turned the ball over on a fumble to end the scoring possibility.
The Yellow Jackets then scored on a 90 yard run against the Falcons reserves to make the score 20-8. The Falcons offensive reserves then ran out the clock to end the game and preserve the victory.
The Falcons will be on the road at Varnado on September 26 as they continue their season and fight for a spot in the Washington Parish Junior High championship game.
