Game of the Week - Pine 6-0, 1-0 at Amite 3-2, 1-0. The Raiders are rolling right now as they have their best start in school history. They are racking up the points and being very stingy on defense. Their schedule hasn't been the toughest but they've defeated every team put in front of them.
On paper Amite doesn't look to have gotten off to a great start but they are very talented but short on experience
Should be a good one.
Notes and Quotes
"I told them all week long we're 0-0, these guys are 0-0 don't look at their record --- they have some good players, #7 is as good of a player as I've seen in a while, we've just got to come out and keep working hard. I'm happy with where we are, we're 1-0 in the district and every week you want to get another win up the ladder. I was real happy with tonight and I thought our defense played well. It's nice that we're getting on track a little bit, the change at quarterback was astronomical. I think again next week we're going against a 4-1 Pearl River team and I tell our guys all the time I'll put our opponents up against any of the opponents any of our district opponents have played and nobody matches what we've played." ---
Franklinton coach Nick Saltaformaggio
"Very proud of our football team. Our defense played great all night. Offensively we struggled to find rhythm early on and our defense made several stops on our end of the field. Amite is next and that's going to be a huge game."
Pine coach Bradley Seal
"Our guys left it all on the field. They played their hearts out. Centreville is a very good football team. Best offense that we have faced all year. There were several times that our backs were against the wall and we made plays on offense and defense to keep us ahead. Two fourth down conversions and an interception and fumble recovery were huge. The field goal by Alex Brock late in the fourth quarter was huge. It made it a two score lead. That nine point lead that late in the game put us in a good place. I just love these kids and I'm so proud of the fight that they have in them. They deserve this district championship."
Bowling Green coach Jason Johnson
"We had another good night last night. Our team played really well tonight and we are ready for next week."
Bens Ford coach Destin Pittman
