Mt. Hermon native Walter Thomas "W. T." Ott was the father of George Herbert "Sam" Ott and John Monroe Ott. And in 1911 W. T. was the first Washington Parish Fair President, an historical role in our parish. But this wasn't his only claim to fame.

The Magees --- part 7

Mary Polly Magee was the seventh child of William Magee (1762-1837) and Mary Margaret James Magee (1771-1867). Born on the fifth day of May in 1807, she married Reverend Stephen Ellis (1795-1869), who was the first Methodist minister in Franklinton, in 1824.
