Fire District 7 controversy was again a topic at Parish Council meeting

The Washington Parish Council met on December 15, with an agenda of 14 items to address before the end of the year. The meeting began with a public hearing on four ordinances to be voted on by the Council during the regular meeting immediately after.

Franklinton mayor and aldermen hear of potential kayak rental facility at town boat ramp

The Franklinton Board of Aldermen and Mayor Darwin Sharp met for the final time of 2025 on December 9. The Board voted in October to hold only one meeting in each of November and December because of the holidays. The minutes from the November 10 meeting were approved and the Board moved through the agenda items at a brisk pace.
