Actually, the ceremony will take place this Sunday, the day before Memorial Day. At 2 p.m. the Color Guard of American Legion Post 24 will present a 21-gun salute in honor and in memory of American servicemen who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Farmers, horsemen: Veterinarian prescription will be required for livestock antibiotics

The Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry wants to make livestock owners aware of an important date coming up. Starting on June 11, 2023, over-the-counter (OTC) livestock antibiotics will require veterinary oversight as a result of a new federal rule from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
