Jason Smith of Mount Hermon officially became Washington Parish Sheriff last Friday evening. He was sworn in to office in front of a crowd of deputies, other officials, and supporters. In the photo above, Smith is being sworn in by retired District Court Judge Bill Burris (obscured) as the new sheriff’s wife, Rebekah, holds the Bible.
