Update: In a special meeting late Thursday afternoon, the Washington Parish Council approved a moratorium on granting approvals for solar farms.
Before a standing room only crowd at the parish courthouse, the council unanimously voted to put the brakes on future solar development in Washington Parish -- at least temporarily.
