Washington Parish schools are in a waiting pattern on Ten Commandments law

Washington Parish school leaders hoping to obtain some clarity about a state law that orders the posting of the Ten Commandments will have to wait.
The law was enacted by the state Legislature last year and signed by the governor, requiring the Ten Commandments to be posted in all public schools.

Retiring Parish Director of Finance honored at reception

Longtime Washington Parish Director of Finance and Personnel Donna Graham was honored on Monday of this week with a retirement reception at the courthouse in Franklinton. She served as Director of Finance and Personnel for 15 years, and before that she was the Director of Finance for the Washington Parish Scchool Board.
