Raymond and Fairba (Russell) Cade will celebrate their 50th anniversary on Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at a reception at Mount Hermon Baptist Church.
The Cades met on a blind date in 1972. They were introduced by friends and invited to double-date with them. While there were sparks on that first date, it was not love at first sight. It was sometime later when Fairba needed a date for a special event that Raymond became her third choice, but first available, and the rest is history.
The Cades have made their home on the Mississippi state line just north of Mount Hermon most of their marriage.
They are the proud parents of daughters Celeste Hickman (Tommy) and Christie Quin (Ray). They are also blessed with grandchildren Connor, Kathrine, and Camdyn Quin and step-grandchildren Kaitlin, Cassidy, Austin, Preston, and Brody Hickman.
Raymond retired from Wal-Mart as a truck driver and Fairba from over 30 years as an elementary teacher. In retirement they have continued to operate their beef cattle farm and they remain active in Mount Hermon Baptist Church where Raymond serves as Chairman of the Deacons. They are also involved in community service through the Mount Hermon Ruritan Club where Raymond serves as president.
The Cades look forward to celebrating this occasion and invite all friends and family to join them. Your presence is their present, no gifts, please.
