A large group of parish officials were at Bogue Chitto State Park last Thursday when Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser cut the ribbon to mark some major upgrades. The park now has a Kid’s Trail, the equestrian facilities have been expanded, and multiple enhancements are now available for mountain bike riders. (For more on the state park, see the upcoming edition of Washington Parish Magazine, published annually by The Era-Leader.) Shown above at the ribbon-cutting are, from left, Bogalusa Councilman Mark Irvine, Parish Councilmen Joe Culpepper and Kim Wagner, Parish School Board President John Wyble, Parish Councilman Rusty Fornea, Sheriff Randy Seal, Lt. Gov. Nungesser, Clerk of Court Johnny Crain, State Sen. Beth Mizell, Parish Councilman Carley King, State Rep. Malinda White, and Parish Council Chairman Shawn Rice.
