A Franklinton native now serving as an Assistant District Attorney in Mississippi has been honored as that state’s Prosecutor of the Year.
Christopher Danial, a graduate of Bowling Green and son of local residents James and Kathy Daniel, recieved the honor during a ceremony earlier this month.
Daniel has been an Assistant District Attorney in Hancock County for the past 11 years. He graduated from Bowling Green in 1994.
Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch said in presenting the award to Daniel, ““Good prosecution does not just come from the mind. But also, from the heart. Each case involves a criminal act that has touched someone’s life. While Chris has a tremendous skill set and track record in the courtroom, including more than four dozen pedophile convictions, Chris’ empathy and compassion are what set him apart as a prosecutor. He is dedicated to not only achieving justice, but to also helping victims find closure, and Mississippi is fortunate to have someone of such integrity serving the people.”
