A major repaving program in Franklinton is well underway, and town officials are hopeful that good weather will continue, allowing the work to continue without any delays.
While the repaving has caused some inconveniences for motorists on certain streets, town officials note that the inconviences are short-lived, while the benefits of repaved roads are a long-term improvement.
Shown above is repaving work being done on Pearl Street last Friday. The work required the street to be closed off to traffic.
Paving work will be moving across Franklintion as the repaving program progresses, and motorists driving on or near work areas are asked to be patient when inconveniences are enountered.
The paving work is being done by Barriere Construction, and it is being paid for by a grant the town of Franklinton received.
