(This is one of a continuing series of articles introducing the officers of the Washington Parish Fair.)
Pam Pierce is the current Vice President of the Washington Parish Fair Association's Executive Committee. Her position requires her to assist President Robbie Thomas and the rest of the Executive Board and at each monthly Fair meeting she seeks individual committee chairmen's progress reports moving towards the next edition of the Fair.
She is married to Eric Pierce and together they own and operate Jack Brown's Food Store in Franklinton. They are the parents of Kaitlin Watson (Britt) and Matt Pierce. Pam is a graduate of Franklinton High School and a lifelong resident of Washington Parish.
She has been a Fair volunteer for 17 years. Since 2007 she has served on the Photography Committee and has assisted with all the photography entries. In 2010 she was asked to serve on the Hospitality Committee and became the Hospitality Chairman in 2017. She and the committee members coordinate and host the annual Fair Honoree Banquet the week before the fair. In 2013 she joined the Stage Committee which allows her the opportunity to provide food and serve all the entertainers. Pam is also on the Flag Committee and has been the chairman of that committee since 2018. She is responsible for ordering and distributing all fair flags.
In 2023 Pam was named to the Honor Roll of Stars for the Washington Parish Fair Association. This award recognizes outstanding volunteers who have contributed greatly to the Fair.
Pam feels that the best thing the Fair has to offer is the opportunity to spend time with friends and family as well as working alongside other volunteers and committee members to continue to make the Washington Parish Free Fair the absolute best.
According to her, "Being a part of the Fair has been very rewarding. It has been a pleasure to work with so many amazing people to ensure the Fair's success each year."
