Mike Henley, who served as principal at three different Washington Parish high schools, passed away Sunday night following a long illness. He was 82 years old.
A native of Bogalusa, Henley taught at Mount Hermon School after graduating from college. He later moved into administration, serving as principal at Varnado High, Franklinton High, and Bowling Green School.
He was involved heavily in many local civic activities, including serving as President of the Washington Parish Fair in 1984 and 1985.
As a result of his teaching career and then his service as principal at three different high schools, Henley was associated with countless young students who today are adults in Washington Parish.
The funeral service for Mike Henley will be held Saturday in Franklinton.
