Hello and Happy Wednesday.
Shared Scripture Thought
A mind that dwells on the goodness of God is a mind that dwells in peace.
Have a nice day, y'all.
Hello, Vernon!
Hey Vernon and surrounding communities, I have an idea to share with everyone this week. Everyone who can go outside should rake up a big pile of leaves and let their children or grandchildren jump in for fun. If there are no children around, then walk through the leaves and kick them all over the yard just to enjoy the fun of being alive and well. Peace.
What’s Happening?
It's fair time in Washington Parish!
The Franklinton Parade will be rolling one week from today (10/16). Be safe and have fun.
Some Schools in Washington Parish will not be in session October 13-17, 2025.
This Works
Make stale cookies soft again by placing them in a plastic bag with a piece of bread. Leave it overnight, and boom, good as new.
What’s Cooking in the Neighborhood?
Salmon Patties
Ingredients:
1 (14 oz) can salmon, drained and flaked
2 large eggs
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup diced onion
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp garlic powder
Directions:
In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients.
Shape into patties. In a skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Fry the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
Try This
When camping, use "joke candles" (the ones that can't get blown out) to light fires. This way, the wind won't blow out the flame.
Wednesday’s Joke
A speeding car stopped in front of an elderly person's home, and the driver asked what was the quickest way to the cemetery? A person responded, "Close your eyes and keep driving fast."
The Writer’s Pen
Friends, my articles will be on pause for a bit. With God’s mercy, I’ll be writing again soon. Thank you for your continued love and prayers—they keep me going.
