The Franklinton Junior High Falcons continued their dominant season last Tuesday with a decisive 30-8 victory over the Mt. Hermon Yellow Jackets. With the win, the Falcons improved to 6-0 and are well on their way to qualifying for the Washington Parish Junior High Championship game.
The Falcons wasted no time getting on the scoreboard. On their very first offensive play, Dkari Williams connected with Kedarrius Warren on a 40-yard touchdown pass. Jemiah Robertts ran in the two-point conversion to give Franklinton an early 8-0 lead at the 6:04 mark of the first quarter.
Later in the first, Jeremiah Ellis extended the lead with a 12-yard touchdown run at 2:24. The conversion attempt failed, but the Falcons were comfortably ahead 14-0.
Midway through the second quarter, Ty Causey added another score on a 12-yard run. Williams then found Logan Haik for the two-point conversion, putting the Falcons up 22-0 heading into halftime.
Ellis struck again in the third quarter with an 18-yard touchdown run, and Westin Brauninger added the two-point conversion to make it 30-0.
Mt. Hermon avoided the shutout with a late three-yard touchdown run, but their two-point attempt was stopped short, sealing the final score at 30-8.
The Falcons look to keep their perfect season alive when they face Varnado at Demon Stadium on September 30.
