The Winterset Club kicked off their 2025-2026 club year with two monthly meetings.
The first meeting was held on September 15 at Bessie's Sweet Retreat. Judy Bullock and Marie Wascom were hostesses. Kenny Morgan, owner, served 3 of his specialties, roast beef, chicken salad, and pimento cheese sandwiches with chips and dips. Each member selected her favorite ice cream flavor or dessert. Janet Breland conducted her first meeting as president. She also won the door prize.
The October meeting was held on October 20 at the Varnado Museum Annex. Charlotte Bateman, hostess, introduced Sandra McDaniel, the guest speaker. She discussed the benefits that the Council on Aging offers to anyone above the age of 60. Lasagna and lemon pie were served. The door prize was won by Mary Joe Poole. The next meeting will be held on November 16 at the Varnado Museum Annex.
