The coaches of district 7-4A have released their all district football selections for the 2024 season. The district is made up of Franklinton, Hannan, Lakeshore, Loranger and Pearl River. Franklinton, the division II non select state runner up was well represented with eight first team selections and four second team selections.
In addition, Franklinton head football coach, Nick Saltaformaggio, was named District Coach of the Year.
Selected to the first team all district offensive team were offensive linemen Beau Webb and Josh Wright, back Sy Austin, receiver Conner Magee and quarterback Jacob Crain.
Crain was also selected as the district offensive MVP.
Aided by the offensive line, Austin rushed for a school record for rushing in a single season with well over 2,000 yards. Crain passed for over 2,500 yards and 25 touchdowns in his junior season. Magee had over 800 yards receiving with rushing yards as well.
Selected to the first team defensive team were end Andrew Booker along with linebackers DJ Anders and Christon Elles. Anders was selected as the district defensive MVP.
Second team selections for the Demons were linebacker Elisha Hart, Skylar Williams, receiver DaMikies McClain and tight end Dalton Freeman. Honorable mention was Easton Smith, lineman.
Demons coach Nick Saltaformaggio was proud of his teams' selections.
He said, "First, I am proud of all of our district selections. When you have both the offensive and defensive MVPs that is a testament to the hard work those players put in. The all district team is also a clear sign that our program is moving forward. Sy (Austin), Jacob (Crain) and DJ (Anders) are all first time selections who have developed through our program. The other selections are positive proof that dedication in the weight room, classroom and locker room has rewards."
