*The Worship Service Sermon on Sunday, August 9th was entitled: A New Thing, In A New Season (Isaiah 43:18-19). Pastor Robert Johnson reminded us that our Past is our Testimony not our destination and that we can experience "Transformation" by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2). The congregation was left with a question that requires a personal response: Will we allow God to do a New Thing in our hearts and minds? Amen.

*On Listening to Gain Wisdom:
*I had both the privilege and the pleasure of visiting with my 105 year old Grandmother Emily recently. I am always amazed at the “Words of Wisdom” that she speaks intentionally and unintentionally as well.
One random encounter that she shared, on this visit, was her request for a drink of water. She went into great detail stating: “I don’t want no ice water, I want that pure water, I can’t drink that ice water because it gives me the chills”, etc.
After listening, I proceeded to pour water from a pitcher and bring it to her. She took one sip and firmly said, “I said I didn’t want no ice water and this is ice water”, and handed the cup back to me.
I said a bunch of “Yes Ma’ams and I’ll be right back, as I made my way to the sink. Once there I poured out the “ice” water and refilled her cup with cool tap water. Let me tell you, when she took the first sip, my Grandmother continued until the cup was empty. This reminded me that we should all Respect the Wisdom of the elderly and learn to be wise by doing what they say, the way they say to do it. *“Wisdom belongs to the aged, and understanding to the old” (Job 12:12 NLT). *GPigott*
