We had some strong thunderstorms accompanied with strong winds last week. I’m sorry for any flooding or property damage that the storms caused. At the same time though, I’m Thankful for the rain, as it is necessary for maintaining life for people and plants. #BeThankful

*On Baking: I recently experimented with a couple of new cake recipes that did not turn out the way I expected. I tried these because being able to make the cake from scratch “easier/faster” appealed to me.
Through the process of testing the taste and texture of the simplified cake recipes, I decided to go back to the recipe I had been using for years. Yes, the one that takes both time to prepare and time to bake. I learned that although my long time cake recipe is time consuming, the results are well worth it.
