The basketball coaches of district 7-4A have released the All District basketball team for the 2025-26 season. Franklinton's Demarcus Magee, a senior, was named to the First Team. Senior Luke Bourgeois and junior Jayden Burkhalter were named to the Honorable Mention. Pearl River's Brayden Hutchinson and Archbishop Hannan's Jay Dantzler were named as Co-Most Valuable Players while Archbishop Hannan's Errol Gauff was named as the Coach of the Year.
Bogalusa High school is currently looking for a new head football coach. Coach Cyril Crutchfield has been the head coach there for the last five seasons.

Franklinton High school's principal, Shane Smith, was elected as president of the LHSAA Executive Committee at the LHSAA yearly principal's convention held recently.
Other news from the LHSAA principal's convention was that a "one time transfer" rule was again voted down by a 287-59 margin. This amendment was also voted down at the 2025 LHSAA convention by a similar margin.
Another amendment which would allow any incoming freshman to choose any LHSAA school of their choice and immediately be eligible for all sports at all levels, regardless of attendance zone passed by the narrowest of margins 169-168. Any incoming student athletes transferring into a school would still have to be approved by the local school board.
Some calendar changes were also approved as basketball season will be pushed back by a week in order to reduce conflict between fall and winter sports, namely football and basketball. Softball season will also be delayed by two weeks and thus will push the state tournament back by two weeks as well. These calendar changes will go into effect for the 2026-27 school season.
