This past week was both busy and productive for me. I learned that intentional kindness shown towards others can “turn a frown upside down”. For example: This past Saturday while getting gas for the pickup truck, I noticed that a man was having difficulty parking beside me. To my dismay I was parked a foot or more from the pump I was using. Well he eventually managed to park and begin pumping his gas. When I finished my task I called out to him saying, “Sir…Excuse me, Sir?” and he turned around with a scowl on his face. I quickly began to apologize for parking so close saying things like, “Driving my husband’s big truck is tricky for me sometimes” and I even said, “But you know how we women drivers are”. His response was a huge smile and him saying to me, “That’s okay”. Now who do you think was smiling also…ME :)

*The Youth of Mt. Zion MBC really blessed my soul, on the 3rd Sunday in July. My husband and I were visiting with my grandmother at the Good Samaritans Nursing Home, when the group from Mt. Zion came in to render worship service. The Youth read scripture, said the prayer, sang two selections (I’m Still Holding On and Trouble Don’t Last Always). The Youth Pastor/ Rev. Lesley McKinley delivered a message of “Hope” from John 3:16 and Musician Lunder Johnson sang his rendition of “Jesus Loves Me”. The service was offered in a spirit-filled and uplifting way for all in attendance that had a desire to receive.
