Most weeks I ask for aluminum can tabs, Box Tops coupons, Campbell’s labels, or Community Coffee coupons. A few weeks ago, one of my mom’s best friends Mrs. Exie Jo Corkern Elmore mailed me a big envelope full of the tabs from Texas. I was so appreciative and can’t thank her enough for taking the time to send those to me so I can pass them along. Thank you, Mrs. Exie Jo!
For a teacher the month of July flies by. In a way July makes me kind of sad, because I know one chapter is closing and another one is opening. I will have a Senior and a Sophomore this school year and I am just not ready for it. We are so proud of our girls and know they will do big things, but my mama heart isn’t ready.
Youth Sunday at Enon Baptist Church has been changed to July 24th. We are looking forward to hearing about all that the Youth learned at Camp Fuego and all the different decisions that were made. We are still hearing great stories about camp here at our house.
Condolences to the families of Kaki Harbin, Brianne Pittman, Terri Branch Jones, and Martha Ann Herrington.
Happy birthday to Trevor Daniels, Patsy Green, Erin Mitchell, Jean Mistretta, and Missy Talley Gaines.
There is no Children in Action for the month of July. Blessing of Food will be July 23rd. Mission Friends will be ages 3-1st grade as of this week. If you would like to volunteer for Nursery or Mission Friends, please see Diana Casanova or Kristen Thomas.
Students will return to school on August 5th. There will be a Meet the Teacher on August 3rd. When I find out more information about this, I will pass it along to you. If you need a school supply list, you can check the school website or Facebook page.
I believe the children who have participated in the Summer Reading Program at the Enon Library have done an amazing job. Each fish on their bulletin board represents a child that has read five or more books. That is a lot of fish! The Summer Reading Program was a great thing when I was young, and it was great for my daughters as well. I hope that it will continue to be passed on down one day.
I hope you all have a great week. If you have any information to share, just message me. Try to stay out of the heat and stay cool and hydrated. Until next week…..
