Congratulations to Brook’s General Store for winning the award for “Best Fried Chicken” and “Best Red Beans”! This isn’t the first year that they have won, and I’m sure it won’t be the last. We are very thankful to have Brook’s in our community!
Happy Anniversary to James and Liz King, Richard and Becky Foley, Gary and Katie Fenner, Randy and Debra McElveen, and to my parents, Earl and Rachel Gill, who celebrated their 48th anniversary on August 7th.
Mt. Hermon School is kicking off the new school year with a back to school dance “Disco at the Herm” on Saturday, August 24th. The 6th-8th graders will attend from 5:30-7PM, then 9th-12th graders will attend from 7:30-9:30 PM. It is hosted by MHS Student Council and The Good Samaritan Club.
Last Sunday at Mt. Hermon UPC, we welcomed Pastor Barry and Sis. Denise Fulton. Pastor Fulton delivered to us the message in the morning service. Also, Pastor Randall Garcia led a special prayer for all students, teachers and staff to have a safe and productive year. Parents and family gathered around their child, and each child received a special card/tag for Blessing of the Backpacks.
This Thursday, August 15th, the Young at Hearts will meet at 11:30 AM at the new restaurant in Franklinton, Eat Out. Join them for lots of food, fun and fellowship.
