Summer greetings to all of you!
Can you believe that August is already here? Those few summer vacation weeks went by fast. School begins on Friday, August 5th in Washington Parish. We are still experiencing high temperatures, but thankful for the rain to help cool things off. Try to stay out of the heat as much as possible and be sure to drink plenty of liquids, preferably water.
Bro. David Grantham was the visiting Gideon recently at Mt. Pisgah. His message was taken from Ephesians chapter 6 verses 10-20. Paul the missionary, going place to place preaching, was put in jail, but that did not stop him from preaching. Paul was a bold and courageous man of God. He also shared about coming to Mt. Pisgah many years ago with Mark Belcher and that is where he accepted the Lord as his savior. Bro. David is a pilot and shared about the times he worked on Marks airplane. We enjoyed having him and his wife Kathy with us.
Jackie and I recently enjoyed a fish plate at Bo's, and to our surprise, a handsome young guy saw us, and came over to say hello, get a hug and told us he picked up our tab. What a treat! We might be getting old, but we still get special attention. We loved it.

Need a quick snack? An apple with peanut butter or celery sticks with peanut butter. Surely, you've always loved "An apple a day, keeps the doctor away." Well, I'm no fortune teller, but I do know it's a good nutrition treat and also good for you.
Continue to pray for the sick, lonely, shut-ins, the ones who've lost beloved ones and our country. Our Lord can and will take care of all needs just as they need to be cared for.
Christian sympathy is sent out to the family of Mrs. Katherine Magee. She recently lost her daughter-in-law Shirley. You are in our thought and prayers.
