Hello everyone! This is Wednesday, the first day of May. Hope you have been enjoying these beautiful Spring days. I wonder when these 40-degree cold mornings will be over. I had put my winter jackets/long sleeve shirts up, but I've been getting them back out. Believe me, they felt good especially when I'm outside on duty at school early in the mornings. I love the beautiful spring afternoons and the extra hour of daylight when outside doing my yard work, 70 degrees and the slight movement of a cool breeze. That's my kind of weather. Surely it won't be long before the temperature will rise, and the hot summer days will be here; then we'll be hot and trying to keep cool. Let's face it - there is NO way to please everyone! So, let's take one day at a time and be happy, because we are not in control of the weather and that's probably a good thing. Let the Lord take care of it. He is in control and knows what's best for us. Our two cents don't count anyway. Ha! Ha!
Family and friends gathered at Cafe Bouchee to celebrate the birthday of my brother Troy Ingram. Everyone enjoyed their favorite seafood meal and lots of chit chat. Happy birthday wishes and birthday song honored Troy. Joining in the celebration were Jackie Smith, Greg Seal, Lorell Morris, Sheila Williams, Alex Ingram, Justin Ricks, John Ricks, Haze and Ruby Bickham, James Bickham, Troy, and I.
Happy belated birthday to my niece Callie Seal who celebrated her birthday April 22nd. Elizabeth Parker had a birthday on April 22nd. April 23rd was Chris Chaisson's birthday.
The week of Spring Break went by like a whirlwind. I had plans to cut bushes, trim trees, pick up limbs now and get my house cleaned and in order. Well, none of this was done. As a matter of fact, my week was a very pleasant one doing things I enjoyed. I went out to eat several times. Jennifer Bankston Dillon visited with me, and we enjoyed lunch at Cafe Bouchee. This was her first time eating there. We had a great visit before she went home.
Frankie Oniel Tate hosted a birthday celebration with a beautiful meal and good music. Everyone enjoyed Jambalaya, friend fish, grilled meats, salads, and desserts. A fun time was had by all. Bryan and I were invited. My sister Jackie also attended. Family members celebrating a birthday in April were Mrs. Mary, Rose, Nick, Calvin, and Rose's grandbaby Jayden. Franklin's birthday was March 23rd.
Signing off for now! Have a blessed week. Be back next week. Same time, same station, love ya- Nell.
