Mrs. Myra Magee, the director of “Pride and Hope Ministry'' was the guest speaker for the Washington Parish Coalition on Human Services (WPCHS) at their July meeting. The Pride and Hope Ministry Organization is based in both Angie, LA and MS.The organization provides services for seniors, operates a daycare and employs many residents from within the parish. *Worship service was held on Sunday, August 7th @ 8:30 a.m. with Pastor Terrence August bringing the message from Luke 12:32-48. The sermon was entitled: A Summons to Faithful Service. The congregation was reminded that we should open our eyes to look for God’s work, use our hands to do God’s work and be ready to do God’s work. In addition, we should practice living in the light daily, accept uncertainty, encourage one another and keep doing the work that God has called us to do. Prayer was offered for school principals, teachers and students for a safe and productive year. Amen!
First Missionary Baptist Church (Varnado):
*The Blessing of the Book Sacks was held on Sunday, July 31st. Students and teachers were prayed for as well as everybody involved with the education of our children. Amen!
*A back-to-school bash is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 13th at from 3 pm until. There will be games, a bounce house, food, devotion, karaoke and money. All are invited and welcome to attend!
